On this day your African safari begins in Kasane, the gateway to Botswana’s wilderness. Shortly upon arrival at Kasane International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our safari team where after a short briefing, you will be transferred to your first camp site location in Chobe.

Later you board embark on a sunset river cruise along the Chobe River, one of the most famous wildlife viewing locations in Africa.

The day begins before sunrise, when the bush is at its most active. While with coffee in hand, you set out into the cool morning air as the first light reveals fresh tracks left overnight. Most important Savuti is renowned for its predators, and your guide will focus on tracking lions, often found resting after a night of hunting. Hyenas and jackals may still be active, feeding on the remains of a kill or moving through the grasslands.

By now, you are fully immersed in the rhythm of the bush. The early morning game drive offers another opportunity to explore deeper into Savuti’s less-traveled areas. This is often when more elusive species are encountered cheetahs scanning the plains, or lions moving between territories. Elephant behaviour is also fascinating here, particularly around waterholes where large herds gather.
